The 1965 traditional style Spanish property has been transformed into a bright contemporary home that benefits modern day installations, a courtyard with hot tub and a roof top solarium from which to enjoy the 330 days sunshine a year that Almería is reported to achieve.

Located almost in the shadows of the village church and its plaza, the property has been enjoyed by the current owners for the past eleven years and their maintenance and investment to it has been exemplary.

From the roadside its façade tells nothing of what lies behind the wooden shuttered doors but first impressions certainly do not disappoint.

The once long dark interior of the building that had one room leading to another slightly darker room and so on, has been opened from the front to the rear. Which part your eyes take in first could be different for everyone; it could be the traditional textured walls at the entrance, the skylight or log burning fire in the living area, the kitchen and dining area or a glimpse of the courtyard to the rear.

The original entrance hall is still currently used as such but is large enough to be utilised as a home office area too. With the entrance door shutters open and glass panel above it the south east frontage brings in sunlight to this part of the home.

Moving into the central part of the property there is a comfortably furnished living area with the aforementioned atrium skylight bringing in the sunlight from above and a log burning fire for the winter evenings.

Finally at the rear of the right hand side of the property there is the large kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is L shaped being installed along two walls providing extensive work surfaces and storage alongside the gas hob and oven and fridge freezer. The washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the external courtyard area so as to not impede on the living space.

The dining area is large enough to seat six people and with the open plan design entertaining can be an uninterrupted experience for everyone.

The second half of the property to the left of the lounge is distributed as bedrooms and bathrooms.

The master bedroom, housing a Super King sized sleigh bed, is to the rear of the property. It has its own working log burning fire which is seldom used now but was retained as one of the original property features and en suite shower room with feature glass block walk-in shower, toilet and basin.

Moving through the hall way to the right there is a large family bathroom with bath, toilet and basin in vanity unit. Half tiled walls around and also with a light stealing atrium, the internal bathroom is bright and spacious.

The second double bedroom with King sized sleigh bed is also of a generous size. The wooden shuttered windows allow in as much or as little sunlight as you require.

Accessed from the kitchen there is a Courtyard to the rear of the property. With two retractable sun awnings you can have sun or shade and the area is very private.

To one side is a circular hot tub with one of the awnings above it and to the other side the utility area and hot water heater.

In-between these areas there is room for a table and chairs, access to the very useful storage room and the staircase leading to the solarium.

The solarium is the footprint of the property below and takes sun all day. Furnished with dining table and chairs and sun loungers this outdoor space is the Jewel in the Crown for the winter months.

As already mentioned the property is in excellent condition and is furnished to a high standard. It benefits air conditioning in the lounge and master bedroom; wardrobes in both bedrooms; rejas to all windows; all mains connections and of course internet and wifi!

Although a terraced property, due to how they built properties in the 1960’s the walls are thick, very thick in fact and the noise you may experience in a modern day mid-terrace property does not apply here.

Due to its location and proximity to the church, the focal point for most fiestas in the village, do not be surprised to see a procession or two with the Virgen del Carmen (patron saint of the village) passing the front door.

For anyone looking for a true Spanish location in which to live amongst Spanish neighbours and a modern style property in which to do so; congratulations, you have just found it!

Los Gallardos is a traditional Spanish village with all the day-to-day amenities available including a weekly street market.

Within a 10 to 15 minute drive you can be in the towns or beaches of Mojácar, Garrucha and Vera or up in the mountain village of Bédar. The A7/E15 is close by making travelling times to Almería, Murcia and Alicante airports 45, 80 and 120 minutes respectively.

Golfers have a varied selection of courses to choose from in the area including Marina Playa on the coast, the Arizona style course at Desert Springs and the Valle del Este with 4* Hotel & Spa just a few kilometres away.

Skiing in the morning and being down on the beach in the afternoon is possible with Sierra Nevada ski resort being only approximately 2½ hours away and in recent years has grown in popularity with some of the best snowfalls in Europe.

Walking, bowls and craft clubs are also plentiful so there is always something that you can get involved with should you wish to.

Los Gallardos is a popular destination for Spanish and tourists alike for the annual Three Kings celebration and re-enactment in January and also the July fiesta. The village has received considerable funding to build a new health centre, school and sports facilities with a new cultural centre recently being completed too.
